Tim Jacobs, Lead Pastor

Pastor Tim is passionate about helping people understand the grace of God – especially those who have felt far away from him. Through his preaching, leadership, and conversations with skeptics and those who have given up on “religion,” he has made it his life’s purpose to tell as many people as possible the Good News of God’s grace through Jesus Christ.

In addition his role at Compass, Pastor Tim is committed to seeing new churches get started both locally and around the world. In February 2012 Compass launched its first church plant. He also serves on the board of Indigenous Ministries, an organization committed to helping nationals plant churches in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

While he loves ministry, Pastor Tim’s real love is being a husband and father. He married the love of his life, Judi, in 1998, and they have three school-age children: Ryan, Cambria, and Madison, (and a dog named Wesley).

Education has been a big part of his life. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in 1996, a Master of Divinity from Talbot School of Theology in 2002, and a Doctor of Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2011.

Tim enjoys killing himself at Crossfit, playing guitar, reading just about anything, and spending as much time with his family as possible!
